Dr. I. Pavlidis is the corresponding researcher for our partner, University Kassel (DE), although Prof. Herberg is the PI of University of Kassel. Dr. Pavlidis studied Biology at the University of Ioannina (GR) and got his PhD from the same university in Biotechnology in 2011. He has worked as a postdoc at the university of Greifswald (DE) with the main topic of his research being protein engineering and biotransformations. Since 2015 he’s established his own research group at the Dept. of Biochemistry of University of Kassel, ran by Prof. F.W. Herberg (PI). Dr. Pavlidis and his group are working on the biocatalysis and biotransformation of natural products of high added value for industrial purposes. He’s published 21 papers in international peer-reviewed journals since 2009.
